7 Women of the village attended a workshop at Studio98 in Napier, South Africa.
Making jewellery out of beach findings. It’s a workshop Yvonne started a few years ago for the University of the Western Cape and since then several follow ups in different places in the Western Cape.
In a half day or a day workshop people learn how to recycle beach findings (such as shells, kelp, seaweed, driftwood and fishing nets) into jewellery to show off themselves or as a birthday present, etc.
It was the first time local women asked if it was possible to have such a workshop in Napier. And the answer was yes.
