We are located in Napier, Western Cape, South Africa along the main road between Cape Town (90 minutes if no traffic jam) and Cape Agulhas (40 minutes with rural traffic jam). Tourists tend to rush pass our village on their way to their mainstream destination. But more and more explorers amongst those travellers are discovering this gem in the Overberg region. Many villagers work from the comfort of their own home. Garages became workshops and studios for the numerous artisans. There is ‘The Big Cheese’ for example; cheese straws that the privileged Capetonians and tourists buy at Giovannis in Cape Town, a militaria museum, a toy museum, diverse artists (some with name and fame), a miniature steam engine builder (exporting all over the globe); just to mention a few. The village has the largest sundial in South Africa; the architecture of the church attracts architects and designers but most of all we like the rural surroundings with their farms and local wildlife; the ever changing sky colours, the earth colours (hence Yvonne’s jewellery) and the generous and genuine hospitality of the community. Well … why not discover it yourself
